I just can’t get enough of this gorgeous California wedding. The venue is breathtaking, the flowers are stunning and the the decor is elegant and dramatic. But what I like most is the happiness that the couple radiates in each and every photograph. You can almost feel the excitement, joy and love at this wedding. And that’s what it’s really all about.
Chrissy + Brian | August 24, 2012 |Newport Beach, California
We had a white, outdoor, evening wedding on a cliff overlooking the ocean. White roses and phalaenopsis flooded the area. Ivory sheets and crystal chandeliers hung from the rotunda where the ceremony took place. A string trio provided a array of music you never would have believed a string could play. During the first kiss, white doves were released flying high above the crowd.
The reception took place 50 feet away inside the Mar Vista Ballroom at Pelican Hill as the sun set over the ceremony rotunda. The room was decorated consistent with the modern white theme of the ceremony. Ghost chairs greeted guests at tables set with platinum and white. Three foot bouquets of phalenopsis as well as Manzanita trees adorned with dendrobium orchids and crystal strands graced the tables. The walls were draped in the same ivory sheets as the ceremony rotunda and strands of crystals blanketed the doorways of the ballroom. The DJ played hits from all genres of music while guests watched several performances by the break dancers the couple had hired to entertain. Silly photos were snapped and videos to the new couple were recorded in the photo booth as other guests perused the three separate dessert stations consisting of cake, s’mores, gelato and small treats.
Chrissy’s Wedding Dress Search
When I began my dress search as a first time bride I sought out for the least “bridal” looking dress possible. At the first bridal boutique, I told the woman I did not want lace, sequins or beads or anything ball gownish. I also told her I wanted white, not ivory. I found out very quickly that I looked much better in the ivory than the white and only to appease my family did I try on the lace dress. I fell in love! I went to several other bridal shops and tried on approximately 40 dresses but I couldn’t stop thinking about this lace dress with the tiered skirt that I poo pooed at the first store.
How Chrissy Felt In Her Dress
Exquisite. Sexy. Alive.
Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress
I am not a keep sake type of person. I do not keep old cards, letters etc. The thought of keeping such a beautiful dress boxed up for years in the back of a closet as I will never wear it again, makes me sad. Another bride should don this gorgeous gown and shine on the most important day of her life.
