Charming Details: Julie and Graham

You know your wedding was special if it was one your photographer’s favorite weddings to shoot.  That’s the case for Julie and Graham, whose 2008 wedding was shot by Allyson Madga of San Luis Obispo.

Why was it so different?  According to Allyson, it’s because of the charm of their reception (a luncheon!), the quaintness of their location, and the amount of care that went into all of the wedding details.

Here’s just a few of them:

Vintage glassware – from decanters as water pitchers, to champagne glasses, water glasses and wine glasses, the bride and groom made it a game to hunt thrift stores for months, not paying over 50 cents per piece!  All their “barware” for their wedding cost less than $150!  And they allowed guests to take it with them… some even walked away with complete sets.

Instead of a unity candle, Julie and Graham watered a plant together…an idea that is not only unique, but means that they can watch the plant grow as their marriage does.

Julie used a sweet vintage cake topper that has been used in her family weddings for years.

And one of my favorites  – viewmasters on each table – full of their engagement photos.

The wedding featured succulents in the bridal bouquet, wedding cake, and as favors for their guests.

And homemade, groom-brewed beer – complete with custom labels was on hand for their guests to enjoy.

Looking at these pictures, I can almost feel the vibe of the wedding.  Personal. Relaxed. Meaningful….Perfect.
